Costco is closing the doors on its shooting center and it will reopen to a new audience on Wednesday.
The center, located in the Coronado, Calif., mall, was one of the largest in the country when it opened in the spring of 2014.
Now, the former shooting range is undergoing a major upgrade to make the space accessible to the public.
Costco CEO Jim Graham announced the changes at the company’s annual conference Wednesday.
“Our company is a global leader in entertainment and entertainment technology,” Graham said.
“With this expansion, we will offer our guests the ultimate entertainment experience.
This will include a new shooting range, a more interactive live show and expanded merchandise and merchandise kiosks.
The new venue is expected to generate an additional $2.6 billion in revenue in the first fiscal year.”
Graham also unveiled a new name for the shooting range: the “Costco Shooting Center.”
Costco’s new name will be the “Coronado Shooting Center,” and the center’s website will be updated with the new name.
It will open on Wednesday at 11 a.m. ET.
