Law enforcement in Colorado says a Walmart security employee was killed in a Walmart shooting in Colorado Springs.
Police identified the man as Keith Lamond Scott, a 48-year-old employee of the Walmart in the 900 block of North Main Street.
The victim was shot in the chest.
Scott worked for Walmart in Colorado.
He was the fifth employee to die in the past three weeks, and the first since October of last year.
He was taken to the University of Colorado Medical Center where he died.
Walmart says in a statement that it is cooperating with authorities.
The suspect is described as a black man in his 30s, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds.
He had long dreadlocks and was wearing a black sweatshirt with a Walmart logo on the front.
Authorities say the suspect entered the store at approximately 10:45 p.r.m., pointed a gun at the store manager and demanded money.
The man then went into the back of the store and confronted the security guard, who responded by shooting the suspect in the stomach.
Walmart says the man was a member of its security team and was killed.
