Black Friday, the day before Thanksgiving, is typically the busiest shopping day for consumers, with many retailers seeing their online sales spike.
Today, however, the holidays are not expected to provide much of a boost to Black Friday sales, with most retailers reporting sales down by about 30% to 40%.
This is due to the holiday season being a busy time for the holiday shopping season, with retailers having to adjust their holiday orders for the upcoming year.

BlackFriday2015.com reported that sales for BlackFriday2015 are down 30% compared to last year, and sales on Amazon.com are down by 25%.
Amazon.co.uk also reported that BlackFriday sales were down in the U.K. for BlackSaturday, while BlackFriday 2015.com noted that Black Friday’s sales in the UK are down for Black Saturday.
In terms of retailers, Amazon reported sales on their online store were down 23%, while Best Buy reported that its Black Friday deals were down by 24%.
Walmart reported sales were up by 9% at Black Friday for Black Monday.
