Police are investigating a fatal police shooting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Monday.
The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. as a man was running away from police in a parking lot on the city’s east side.
According to the police report, the suspect tried to run away from officers after being shot in the chest.
Officers chased him to a nearby home, where the suspect died at the scene.
The Baton Rouge Police Department released the video footage from a surveillance camera and said a “person of interest” was arrested.
A gun was recovered at the home.
The man is identified as 28-year-old Marquis Jackson, who had a warrant for his arrest.
Jackson has been charged with felony assault on a police officer, second-degree murder, and reckless endangerment.
The victim, 28-yr-old Michael Brown, was killed by a police dog on Aug. 9, 2014.
