Police say a man shot four people during a shooting at the University of Oregon campus and a man who was shot in the head has died.
The FBI said Friday that it conducted an autopsy and determined that 19-year-old Matthew Wright Jr. was the sole shooter and died at the scene.
Police say Wright, a student at the university, had been at a party at the time of the shooting, which occurred just after noon Wednesday.
Authorities say the incident began with a verbal altercation between Wright and two people outside the university.
The altercation escalated and Wright allegedly fired at the men, who fled in a vehicle, police said.
Police found the vehicle, which was found parked on the street with a bullet hole in the driver’s side door, at about 1 p.m.
Investigators recovered a semi-automatic pistol from the vehicle and say it was used in the shooting.
Wright was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds and later died.
Investigators believe the shooting was related to a drug investigation.
Investigators say they do not have any suspects in custody.
