After a shooting last month, an Oklahoma woman said her gun was accidentally shot while she was holding it at her side.
The woman, Angela Young, told KFOR that she was standing at a shooting range when a black-hooded man approached her, saying he had just shot another man.
She said she thought he was joking and did not realize the gun was on the ground, but the man turned around and grabbed her gun.
Young told KFYR that the gun she was carrying was loaded.
She said the man told her to go back inside.
She then realized it was her gun and started running out of the shooting range.
She says she was wearing a helmet and that she did not see anyone in the vicinity.
The shooting center’s Facebook page says it does not allow people to carry guns without a helmet.
Young said that she does not want her gun back and that her family has a legal right to own a gun.
The Oklahoma City police told the Associated Press they are investigating.
The Oklahoma City Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Young’s claims.
