White + neon photoshoot

a pop of fluor

Posted on May 19th, 2013

Since the spring of last year neon colors are hard to miss. Suddenly they popped up everywhere you looked. In fashion, in graphics and in interior design. I thought this was going to be the kind of trend that would last only one season, but I was wrong! Neon & fluorescent colors are still a hit. With one big difference from last year though: now neon & fluor are used more as bright popping accents. And I like it a lot like this!

So, it was a lot of fun styling this photo shoot I did with Dorothy from Visagie Doro T and Anna-Marie Janssen. I hunted for white garments with a minimalistic feel, to combine with colorful accessories, while Dorothy spiced things up with flashy neon accents in the make up. I love the clean, crisp atmosphere Anna-Marie so perfectly captured.

Spring 2013 fashion with Anthropologie

Posted on February 19th, 2013

The Fall 2013 runway shows are in full swing right at this moment, but I wanted to immerse myself in spring fashion, simply because I can not wait untill spring finally arrives…

I love the rich colors & the mixing of different prints & patterns in one silhouette. The ethnic atmosphere of the Anthropologie Spring 2013 collection almost makes you feel the warmth of summer already. It’s feminine and bold. I love it! ∗

A pop of pink

Posted on January 29th, 2013

I don’t know about you, but I can definitely use a splash of color on this gray, rainy day… These bright pops of neon pink make me feel a lot happier already! ∗

Sale shopping around Kate Spades’ Eat Cake For Breakfast Bag

Posted on January 11th, 2013

This bag. I love it. I mean, who wouldn’t want to eat cake for breakfast?! I love the simple design & the humoristic text. And this is what I would wear to go with it. I essembled this outfit with all sale items, so if you’re inspired by this post, you should act quickly!

Unfortunately, I don’t think the bag is for sale anymore, but I thought it was too cute not to post it. There are plenty of other great Kate Spade totes to choose from though. There is even a new bag with the same design, but a different text.

Have a happy weekend! ∗

Favorite finds

Posted on December 17th, 2012

This favorite finds issue is a Christmas edition. This year is the first time we have a real Christmas tree in our home. The previous 5 years we made alternative trees, like a white paper maché branch for example. We also taped the shape of a tree to the wall, made out of rope and lights. All very fun, but I have to say, nothing can replace a real spruce fir. Somehow, for me this represents the Christmas season like nothing else. So, to keep the Christmas mood going, I selected a few of my favorite accessories & ornaments for you. I hope you like it!∗

The Tote Bag

Posted on December 11th, 2012

The tote bag – or canvas bag – it’s a convenient eco product for everyday use. It’s becoming more popular by the day and it’s evolving from being a handy, environmental friendly replacement for plastic bags, into a fashionable item to carry around beautiful illustrations or bold (fashion) statements. I have been a fan of the tote in any version for a long time now, so I was very happy to receive this wonderful present from my dear friend Mischa. It’s a book totally devoted to the canvas tote bag & it’s illustrations, written by Jitesh Patel.

The possibilities are endless and I love how designers who usually don’t design textile products do experiment with their illustrations on a tote. ∗

Essentiel

Posted on December 3rd, 2012

Every time I walk into this store in Antwerp, it just makes me feel… happy…. And I wonder, might I be shallow?

What can I say, beautiful colors, materials & patterns just give me a feeling of joy. I can’t help it. I don’t even have to buy anything. Just looking, feeling & taking in the atmosphere & stunning color combinations put a smile on my face again & again. I’m a sucker for aesthetics. It is what it is… You may call it superficial, you may call it passion… I just know it makes me feel good, so it can’t be bad, right? I do hope I can make you smile too - maybe just a little bit - with a selection of the fall/winter 2012 women’s collection of the Belgian brand Essentiel.

But seriously, if you have a chance, you should stop by at one of their flagshipstores in Belgium or France. These loose images simply can’t capture the total picture like the way Essentiel presents her collection at the concept stores… On their website you can find all sorts of extras. For instance a “trend” section with suggestions for travel outfits, or a short film on how to accessorize your outfit, starring co-founder Inge Onsea.

Here’s what I would pick, if I would be dressed head to toe in Essentiel:

What do you think? ∗

Vintage find

Posted on October 30th, 2012

photo: Noortje Emmerink, Mintstudio Creations

I brought home this lovely souvenir with me from Madrid. It has got this warm, burned camel shade, which makes it perfect for fall! If you ever plan on going to Madrid and you like vintage shops, you should definitely pay a visit to Lottavintage, where I bought this bag. Read all about my city trip to Madrid here.

Fall fashion

Posted on October 23rd, 2012

One thing I don’t mind about fall is I get to dress in layers again. T-shirts with cardigans, blouses with sweaters - I love it. One brand I particularly like this fall is Maison Scotch. Their collection is casual chic & feminine, with a rock ‘n roll twist. I love the American Southwest influences they bring, together with the Aztec patterns of the knitted cardigans & sweaters. ∗
