This is going to be a rather personal post. Where do I start?

It all comes down to that I’m feeling a strong need to put more structure into this blog & into my professional life. It’s time to get really started! I’ve been thinking a lot about where I want this blog & my professional life to go to in the past few months and I feel like I have had enough time to experiment and find out where my interests truly lie. I’m finally getting my ducks in a row. It’s about time I make some decisions here and put my thoughts into action. Which is not easy and kind of scary too… But I am not letting that hold me back.

After working as a designer for several clothing brands in the past few years, this blog has really helped me find my own interests & my own personal sense of taste back again. This might sound very abstract to the most of you I guess, so I’ll try to explain. When you work for a brand you have to think & breathe like that particular brand in order to understand & “feel” the brand identity so that your designs fit & extend that brand identity. But you should never loose your own identity in the process! I found that somewhere along the way this sort of happened to me. I almost lost my own spontaneous sense of personal taste. Needless to say that’s not a good thing. I really needed some time off to focus on me, myself & I to find myself back again and this blog has helped me do so. This is going to sound very cheesy but I am truly thankful that I had the opportunity & the time to do this. I feel more confident and I can say without hesitation if something speaks to me or not. I know now what’s important to me. Looking back I can say it has not been an easy journey, but it has been and still is a great learning process, which has made me aware of my limits & my pitfalls, my strengths & my abilities and this will be helpful to me for the rest of my life, professionally as well as personally.

I’m ready to get back into business and I am excited to do so, starting with committing more to this blog. So don’t be surprised if you see some changes occurring in the appearance of this blog or in the amount of posts. That’s just me taking this blog a little more seriously. Which is just going to be step one. I’ll fill you in on the rest of the steps along the way.

One thing is certain though: you’ll be hearing from me on this blog a little more often!
