This is a fun little project to do and it is very simple. Anybody can do it! Here’s what you need:
Make a striped pattern with different kinds of sticky tapes. It’s nice to have a variation of widths in between the tapes. Play around until you are satisfied with the pattern. It’s best to use tape that doesn’t stick too well, like masking tape and Scotch tape. I used cardboard coasters. So even when a little bit of the surface came off when I peeled off the tape, you can’t really tell if this happened.
Fill in the gaps in between the tape with (spray) paint. Make sure the cardboard surface is fully saturated. After the paint has dried, carefully peel off the tapes.

That’s it! See? Told you it was easy…
If you are going to make these coasters for yourself please send me photos of the results. I’m very curious to see them and it might be fun to show a little compilation afterwards! ∗
