Do you know that feeling, when you have to do something really important, but you keep finding other things to do first, because that important thing you have to do is also a very difficult one…? You keep writing it down at the top of your to-do-list every day, but at the end of each day you find that you still “didn’t have the time” to finish this task. They say nothing makes more productive than last minute and though I tend to think I have a healthy dose of self-discipline, this phrase absolutely applies to me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not the kind of person that doesn’t follow through. When things need to be done, I get them done. But somehow there needs to be just the right amount of pressure. Since this is a personal blog, the only one to whom it matters is me, so obviously there isn’t any real pressure here…

Yet finally, finally I installed Google Analytics on this blog and I’m so glad I did! This was on my task list for a long, long time. It feels so good to finally have it done. It took me quite some time to figure it out but now it’s up and running. Yay! It might be a very simple thing to do for some people, but as soon as HTML codes appear on the screen I tend to freak out. That’s where I checked out time after time ’till now. After a thorough search on the Internet I found a way to work around the codes by installing a plugin which installed Goolgle Analytics for me. Ha! Problem solved!

Immediately I have access to a lot of useful information that speaks for itself. For example I know now that I have readers in several European countries, but also in the USA, the UK and even the Philippines (Hi, everyone!). That’s a nice surprise! Who knew?! Besides the obvious information there is so much more you can get out of it, if you know how to use it. So there it is. My next difficult task: figuring out how to get the best use out of Google Analytics. I think I might have to call in a professional on this one, ’cause this might just be way out of my league. It looks so complicated…!

Do you use Google Analytics? Do you have any tips for me? Please leave a comment if you do. I would really appreciate it! Have a happy weekend!
